6. Can I pursue the M.A. courses under ODL mode in the study centre under University of Kalyani?
            Yes. You can pursue the M.A. courses (Bengali, English, History & Education)  in the 25 Nos. study centre (affiliated to University of Kalyani) and you can also pursue the M.A. courses (Bengali, English, History & Education)  Kalyani     University Main Campus (Head Quarter).
7. Can I pursue the M.Sc. courses under ODL mode in the study centre under University of Kalyani?
            No. You can pursue the M.Sc. courses (Zoology, Botany, Mathematics & Geography) only in  the Kalyani University Main Campus (Head Quarter).

9) Whether the degree acquired through distance mode is equivalent to the degree acquired through regular mode?
            Regulation 22 of UGC (ODL Programmes and Online Programmes)
Regulations, 2020 stipulates as under:

Degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level in conformity with UGC  notification on Specification of Degrees, 2014 and post graduate diplomas awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode and/or Online mode by Higher Educational Institutions, recognised by the Commission under these     regulations, shall be treated as equivalent to the corresponding awards of the Degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level and post graduate     diplomas offered through conventional mode.
9) What is meant an Academic session?
           An academic session means a duration of twelve months, beginning either in January- February or July-August, as the case may be, of every calendar year. Generally the University of Kalyani advertised for admission into M.A./M.Sc. courses under ODL mode for the July-August academic session only.

Note: 1) A candidate with M.A subject is eligible to get admission in M.A in any other subject (other than M.A in Education) offered through Distance Education Mode irrespective of whether or not that subject was offered at the degree stage. But the candidates with M.A in any professional subject like Music, Drama, Film Studies and other subjects viz, Physical Education (M.P.Ed) and General Education (M.Ed.) etc. will not be eligible to  avail of the provision.
2) In case of M.A in Education, Graduates with B.Ed. or equivalent degrees are also eligible besides who meet the above mentioned eligibility conditions.

12) What is the Fee structure for admission into M.A./M.Sc. courses under ODL mode?
            For M.A. in Bengali, English, History & Education Rs. 5,250.00 (SEM-I & II) & 5,050.00 (SEM-III & IV): Total Course fees in two years -10,300.00
            For M.Sc. in Zoology, Botany & Geography Rs. 20,250.00 (SEM-I & II) &  20,050.00 (SEM-III & IV): Total Course fees in two years -40,300.00
            For M.Sc. in Mathematics Rs. 8,250.00 (SEM-I & II) & 8,050.00 (SEM-III & IV): Total Course fees in two years -16,300.00
13. After completing M.A. courses under ODL mode from University of Kalyani, can I appear for the UGC-NET?
            Yes. You can appear for the UGC-NET since the degrees offered by the   University of Kalyani under ODL mode will be treated on par with degrees  issued by other UGC-approved Universities. Candidate should complete the   Master’s Degree in the Relevant Subject with at least 55% Marks And 50% Marks For Reserved Categories.

 14.  After completing a M.Sc. course under ODL mode from University of Kalyani, can I appear for the CSIR-NET?
            Yes. You can appear for the CSIR-NET since the degrees offered by the University of Kalyani under ODL mode will be treated on par with degrees   issued by other UGC-approved Universities. Candidate should complete the   Master’s Degree in the Relevant Subject with at least 55% Marks And 50% Marks For Reserved Categories.
